Kamal was an early investor of both bitcoin and ethereum. He was most recently head of quantitative trading and research for Crabel Capital Management, a multi-billion dollar alternative asset management firm. Kamal designed and built the Execution Management System (EMS), with connectivity to the most active trading venues around the world, for efficient execution of multi-asset trades, saving tens of millions in annual execution costs.
Kamal spent time in HFT design, exchange integration, and trading at a proprietary trading firm after leaving State Street post the Currenex acquisition. At Currenex, Kamal was instrumental in the development of the company’s algorithmic pricing engine. He started his software career as a developer for Oracle.
Kamal holds a BS in Computer Science and minor in Physics from MIT.
